Too Much Joy + sp. guests Sally Timms & Jon Langford

Specializing in hooky, up-tempo rock that pre-dated pop-punk both in its playfully aggressive drive and goofball sense of humor, Too Much Joy earned a potent cult following as 1988’s Son of Sam I Am took them from the indie ranks to the major labels. Their ability to get serious once in a while took up a bit more of the spotlight on 1991’s Cereal Killers, and 1992’s Mutiny featured the almost-hit “Donna Everywhere.” While Too Much Joy were on hold by the end of the ’90s, the group returned to active duty with 2020’s Mistakes Were Made and 2022’s All These Fucking Feelings.
